Synopsis
The Central American tropical forests of Costa Rica have rich biodiversity. For small insects, it's also a place filled with predators like reptiles and birds. Some insects have evolved in unique ways to protect themselves. They have become mimics. They mimic other animals and natural things to deceive their enemies. Treehoppers have evolved to be able to camouflage themselves into things such as branches, animal droppings and water drops -- things that other creatures would ignore. There are around 3,000 species of treehoppers. Using a high-speed camera and a microphone that can pick up the slightest sounds that insects make, the team reveals the amazing ways of insect mimicry and the wonders of evolution.
