Synopsis
Mysteriously spherical in shape, Marimo, or "moss balls," are freshwater algae found in just a few locations around the world. One of these places is the bottom of Lake Akan in Hokkaido, Japan, where the marimo colony has been designated a special natural treasure. Scientists from around the world are trying to understand why these moss balls are round, and for the first time, underwater cameras are used to reveal the mysteries of this marimo colony.
