A starry night in the big city

Tokyo is a big city of 13 million. In exchange for its bright lights, the metropolis lost its starry skies. Yet just 150 years ago, Tokyo's night sky was brimming with stars. One ukiyo-e painting, Cherry Blossoms at Night, even depicts the stars' varying colors. On the eve of the summer Star Festival, a modern young man falls in love with the woman painted in Cherry Blossoms at Night. The young man's efforts to bring back the bygone skies reveal how much the stars meant to the people of Edo (old Tokyo). Featuring spots where the starry night sky still remains, this drama-and-documentary will envelope viewers in a dazzling starry shower.
