- The allure of the deeply local
In this series, Japanese entertainer Tomomitsu Yamaguchi, a.k.a. Gussan, rides along with local truck drivers to tour national highways and expressways in a number of regions. For this two-part special, he heads to Taiwan. From the passenger seat 2.5 meters above the ground, a panoramic view unfolds. And don't forget the treasure trove of dishes. But above all, the charm lies in the warmth of the people: a grandmother Gussan meets at a hot spring; a Tai chi master in the park in the early morning; three sisters who run a fishing port cafeteria; and a large family of indigenous people. Not to mention the kind and trusty truck drivers. Everyone welcomes Gussan with a smile.
