Decommissioning Fukushima

TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is the site of one of history's worst nuclear disasters: the meltdown of three nuclear reactors. The decommissioning program, which includes the removal of melted nuclear fuel and the dismantling of the contaminated reactors, is an endeavor of unprecedented scale in terms of both size and time span. With the program finally set to begin, this series will document not only the entire decommissioning process but also the return home of the residents evacuated when the disaster began.
