War of the Whales -- Orca Attack!

Included among whales, the largest living creatures on Earth, is the orca. Recently orcas confronted other whales in a five-kilometer square area in a life-and-death battle costing many lives. Over a thousand whales were involved. For the first time ever, this spectacle was entirely caught on film. The battleground was the rich waters off the Aleutian Islands in North America. In gripping scenes, a mother gray whale gives up her life to save her young, and a mother humpback whale comes to the rescue of a baby gray whale. Meanwhile the orcas use well-executed teamwork to attack the other whales. This fierce confrontation was captured in unprecedented scope by our cameras on land, at sea, and in the air.
