MELTDOWN: The Fukushima Disaster

Nine months after the disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, many questions remained unanswered. Why were the earthquake and tsunami able to cut off the plant's lifeline: its power supply? How did the meltdown of the nuclear fuel proceed? How did plant personnel respond to the multiple disaster? Using interviews with experts and plant employees and other information collected through its own reporting, NHK recreates what went on in the power station's central control room. MELTDOWN seeks to uncover the truth behind what happened on that fateful day.
