WILDLIFE -- The Wild Bunch: Hamadryas Baboons

The floor of Ethiopia's Great Rift Valley in Ethiopia is intensely hot and extremely dry. Defying these conditions is a herd of 1,000 hamadryas baboons. The male baboon is the absolute ruler of the family: he searches for food and raises the family's young. These baboons form large groups to protect themselves from lions, hyenas, and other natural enemies. They are considered to be the most violent-tempered of all primates. Hi-speed cameras take us into the lives of the hamadryas baboons amid the stark splendor of the Great Rift Valley.
