An ethnic minority of Chin living in the mountainous western region of Myanmar uphold a custom of gaining honor and happiness by carrying monolithic stones from the mountains to their homes. This year, a monolith will be carried to the house of the village leader, with the five-day journey traversing a 1,500 m difference in altitude and involving approximately 1,000 people.
