Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, China

In 1974, thousands of life-size realistic terracotta soldiers were unearthed in China near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The true reason for their burial still remains a mystery today.
But during recent investigations, other life-size statues in addition to terracotta soldiers have also been excavated in many locations surrounding the Mausoleum. Furthermore, the remains of an extravagant palace and ruins of the castle walls of a vast city were also found. Based on these latest research results, this episode unearths the design and secrets of a major undertaking: the first unification of China by Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
