The Effects of Radiation Over Time

Synopsis
Nearly seventy years have passed since the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan, but the effects are still being felt. The survivors have suffered a lot: from the acute radiation syndrome directly after the bombings, to the leukemia cases that started to emerge 10 years later. Now, the untold genetic damage caused by the massive amounts of radiation is thought to be responsible for the recent increase in occurrences of secondary leukemia. Follow doctors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki as they move closer to understanding the scientific mechanisms involved in the long-term impact of radiation on the human body.
