Syria Through the Eyes of Its People

Synopsis
The Arab Spring wound around the countries in the Middle East. However, in Syria, it escalated into an endless civil war between troops loyal to the Assad regime and anti-government forces. The international community couldn't work out an effective resolution and 60 thousand people lost their lives. What has really happened in Syria? NHK was entrusted with invaluable video footage from ordinary Syrian citizens who wanted to tell the world what was really going on. These videos, recorded by many people over one year, reveal indiscriminant massacres, fierce fighting throughout the land, the fear and hatred that divided the nation, and much more. They tell the previously unknown story of what actually happened in Syria.
