The Katmai National Park on the Alaska Peninsula is the unprecedented kingdom of brown bears with a population of over 2,000. At the beginning of summer, the brown bears, which usually live independently, gather at rivers looking for sockeye salmon. Watching these huge bears weighing over 400 kilograms jostling each other in their rush to catch the salmon is truly spectacular. Giants of Alaska: Brown Bears introduces with dynamic images this kingdom of brown bears cradled by volcanoes and glaciers.
